DEPARTMENT OF MIDWIFERY/OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY NURSING:

The Department of Midwifery/Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing at Mayurakshi College prepares students to provide comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Students learn to assess and monitor women's health, provide antenatal and postpartum care, and support women during labor and childbirth.

The department emphasizes evidence-based practices and a holistic approach that considers the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of women. Students gain knowledge in gynecological nursing, including common conditions and procedures.

Through theoretical instruction and clinical experiences, students develop skills in providing individualized care, educating women about reproductive health, and managing complications or emergencies. They also focus on developing qualities such as empathy, compassion, and effective communication.

The department prepares students to work collaboratively with healthcare teams, empower women in their reproductive choices, and improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. Graduates are equipped to assume the role of a skilled midwife, promoting women's health, ensuring safe pregnancies and childbirth, and advocating for women's reproductive rights and autonomy.
